My Aunt Janelle, amazing wife and mother of 6, shares her wisdom and some encouraging words for mamas about self-care, parenting, and relationships.
Find your tribe.
Rest. (Even Jesus rested!)
Mamas are the atlas and control the pace.
Stop fighting it. Offer it up, surrender it to God and let it go.
Relax into whatever it is… don’t resist.
Children spell love T-I-M-E.
To be treated like a queen, we must treat our husbands like a king.
Be kind and thoughtful.
Have a code word so your spouse knows when to give you a break.
Make quality time together a priority (date night, trips).
Think of his needs and do your best to meet them.
Spending our lives running in pursuit of our children’s happiness makes it much harder for them to find it themselves.
Parenting is an art, not a science. If someone gives you a plan or program for raising children, I’m afraid you’ll have a rude awakening somewhere down the road. Look to God, do your best and love your children. Really, that’s all it takes.
