Wishing certainly has its place but did you know it takes just as much energy to wish as it does to plan? Instead of wishing for things, I want to teach you how to plan instead and see how my simple tips can help you get traction on achieving your dreams!
Here are my 4 tips for how to stop wishing and start planning:
For one week, walk around and write down every time you say or think the phrase “I wish…” without judgment, without editing. Just get real about what you are wishing for and write it all down.
Take one full hour to break down these wishes into chunks. What does it look like at 10%, 20%, 50%...
Write out the steps it would take to accomplish your goal at your decided percentage.
Build a planning team. Gather your family, friends, co-workers, and anyone who will help you accomplish this plan! Schedule a meeting and figure out the goal of the plan, the intent of the plan, the obstacles of the plan, and what the execution of the plan looks like. Ask the planning team to help you brainstorm the plan and really think it through, so your action steps are clear and you have a plan to get started.
